My tutoring focuses on interactive, reflective, and supportive approaches to give you practical communication experience in a positive learning environment. I use methods supported by research and expert recommendations.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Assessment: We'll start by identifying your specific communication goals and challenges through discussion and, if applicable, review of past performance (e.g., presentation recordings, writing samples).
Focused Instruction: I'll introduce key concepts and techniques relevant to your goals, drawing from areas like public speaking strategies, active listening skills, nonverbal communication cues, intercultural communication norms, or media literacy principles.
Interactive Practice: We'll engage in activities like role-playing, games, or analyzing communication scenarios in films to apply what you've learned.
Constructive Feedback: I'll provide specific, actionable feedback on your performance, focusing on strengths and areas for improvement.
Reflection and Planning: We'll reflect on the lesson, discuss your progress, and create a personalized plan for continued development through journaling or discussions.
Personalized Approach: I tailor each lesson to your unique needs and goals, providing personalized coaching and practical exercises.
Supportive Environment: I create a safe, supportive environment where you can feel comfortable taking risks and practicing new skills.
