About Bilan
My name is Bilan, and I am a Lead STEM Instructor with over a year of experience teaching children coding, robotics, and engineering concepts in a supportive and structured environment. I am passionate about helping young learners build confidence with technology and develop strong problem-solving skills from an early age.
I believe that learning should feel encouraging, not intimidating. Many students approach coding thinking it is “too difficult” or “not for them,” and my goal is to change that mindset. I focus on creating a calm, patient, and positive learning space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace.
I am DBS certified and have experience working with children of different ages, abilities, and learning styles. Alongside my teaching experience, I have a background in software development, which allows me to combine strong technical knowledge with a beginner-friendly teaching approach. I specialise in helping students understand concepts clearly rather than memorising steps.
My teaching style is project-based and interactive. I guide students to build small programmes, games, or applications so they can see their progress in a practical way. This not only strengthens their coding skills but also boosts their confidence and independence.
I am committed to being professional, reliable, and supportive. I take pride in helping students develop both technical skills and self-belief, and I aim to inspire curiosity, discipline, and a love for learning in every student I teach.

My approach to tutoring is calm, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s pace and personality. I focus on making coding feel accessible and enjoyable, especially for beginners who may feel intimidated by technology. I use a project-based learning style, where students build small, meaningful projects such as simple games, animations, or mini programmes. This helps them see real progress quickly and builds confidence. I explain concepts in simple language, use visual examples, and regularly check understanding before moving forward. I also encourage problem-solving and independent thinking by guiding students rather than giving instant answers.
Lessons are typically 45 to 60 minutes long, depending on the student’s age, focus, and energy level. Younger students usually benefit from shorter, more interactive sessions, while older students can handle longer, more structured lessons.
I am a Lead STEM Instructor with over a year of experience teaching coding, robotics, and engineering concepts to children in structured learning environments. Alongside this, I also have a background in software development, which allows me to teach coding with strong technical foundations while keeping it beginner-friendly.
My lessons are mainly for children aged 7 to 14 who are complete beginners or at an early stage of learning to code. I teach using Scratch for younger students and Python for older students, helping them develop logical thinking, creativity, and confidence with technology. I aim to create a positive and supportive space where students feel proud of their progress and excited to keep learning.
