About Delaram

I am a singer, performer, and vocal coach specializing in jazz and pop singing.

Performance has always been at the center of my musical journey. Years of singing and performing have shown me that technical skills and stage experience grow best when developed together.

I have taught students online from different countries and backgrounds. My teaching combines vocal technique with performance, helping students build both confidence and strong musical foundations.

Piano and ukulele are also part of my musical practice and are sometimes incorporated into lessons when useful.

I am passionate about music, creativity, and lifelong learning, and I enjoy helping students discover and develop their own voice.

In my lessons, we focus on both vocal technique and performance.

During the first sessions, we work on the fundamentals of healthy singing, breathing, vocal control, and ear training. Once these foundations are in place, we begin learning and performing songs selected primarily to develop and improve your technique.

I believe singing is best learned through practice, so technique and repertoire develop together throughout the course.

At the end of each learning term, I organize an online student concert where learners have the opportunity to perform, share their progress, and gain valuable performance experience in a supportive environment.

  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I used to sing all the time as a child. As I grew older, I noticed myself singing in front of the mirror all the time! Later, I started studying music and working on my vocal technique with experienced teachers and coaches. That’s when singing gradually became more than something I simply loved doing and became my profession.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I love jazz and deeply admire Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. I also have a strong interest in electroacoustic music. And when I want something completely different, I can listen to Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Daughter and similar bands for hours. I think I’m drawn to music that has a strong atmosphere and its own emotional world.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

The most difficult thing to teach is probably that very hidden spice of “performing magic”. I believe it lives somewhere within our deepest emotions, and it isn’t always accessible on command. There are many ways to approach it, but what works for one person might not work for another. So I find it fascinating to help each student discover their own way of bringing something real and personal into their performance.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I think every instrument has its own way of being complicated. If I had to choose, I would give two answers. Wind instruments can be very demanding because maintaining a stable pitch depends so much on breath and physical control. And then there’s the piano: its technique can become incredibly complex, especially because of the enormous and challenging repertoire that has been developed for it throughout the history of music.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

Being steadily present in the process of learning. Sometimes it gets really frustrating to continue, and that’s exactly when you should not give up. We are so used to getting bored and moving on to something else. Learning an instrument — and especially learning to use your own voice — takes patience, consistency and responsibility towards your passion.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

Björk, because I think she’s fun and somehow as crazy as my dreams at night. (and maybe that would help me slowly wake up from the previous night’s sleep!)

Melody Gardot, for my daily dose of poetic jazz.

And perhaps Jacob Collier, to hype it all up!
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

Never be late for a rehearsal.

    Never.

    Again: NEVER!
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

Being passionate and curious, while constantly practicing patience and hard work for something I deeply care about. I try to bring that same curiosity into my lessons: to keep learning, experimenting and discovering new ways of using the voice, while helping my students develop their own musical personality.
