About Sasha
I'm an historian of Modern Europe, with a particular interest in France and Russia in the early 20th century. My research focuses on gender, the experiences of women, and urban life. I also have a background in classical music, and have played the bassoon for nearly twenty years!

I have tutored at the Universities of Oxford and Auckland, and have a PhD in Modern European History. I have seven years of experience as a tutor, working with students in small groups, pairs, and one-on-one. Standard lessons are 50 minutes in length and will be discussion-based - we'll discuss key historical concepts and work on structuring and articulating a persuasive historical argument. I'm also available to discuss postgraduate study options and university application materials.
