About Anna
I have a BA in History from the University of Oxford, and an MA in History of Design from the Royal College of Art. During my MA I was awarded a Distinction for my dissertation, with an additional prize for exceptional academic writing. I hope to continue my research with a PhD. I read widely across academic history journals and other publications, which keeps me up to date with writing styles and conventions. I also have experience of editing a wide range of non-fiction material through my work within the publishing industry. I have always had an interest in a wide range of subjects, from history and ecology to music and sport. When I was a student, it took me a long time to become confident in my unique writing style and academic arguments, and I'm excited to share my passion for words while helping students to reach their potential!

During the first session we will discuss your ideas and plan the road ahead. Subsequent sessions might involve talking through potential research directions, helping to structure an argument, or working through the minutiae of referencing. We can also look at sections of your work together, or I can provide proofreading and feedback (varying in detail depending on the length of the work and the number of tutorial sessions). I can support humanities students up to postgraduate level with every aspect of academic essay writing, from source analysis to referencing. I specialise in history, art history, and related fields, but I can provide general writing assistance and proofreading for a wide variety of topics. I can also offer tailored guidance for dissertations, research proposals and applications, personal statements, cover letters and CVs.
