About Drummond
I've loved economics since school, the way it explains how the world actually works, from markets and incentives to policy and human behavior. That passion took me to the University of Melbourne, then Oxford, and into two years at BCG where I've applied economic thinking to real problems in healthcare and government.
I genuinely enjoy teaching. Seeing someone go from confused to confident is one of the most satisfying things I do. I tutor because I like it, not just as a side hustle - and that comes through in sessions.
My style is direct and practical. I don't over-explain. We work through your actual material, tutorials, lecture content, past papers, and I help you build real understanding, not just exam technique. I keep things casual and low-pressure, but I hold high standards because I know what students can achieve with the right support.

My approach is practical and student-focused. Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes and are structured around what you actually need — whether that's working through tutorial problems, clarifying concepts from lectures, or building exam technique under time pressure. I don't teach to a generic curriculum; I work through your specific course material, identify where the gaps are, and close them efficiently.
I tailor each session to the student's level and goals. For school students, the focus is on mastering core concepts and exam technique — knowing not just the answer but how to structure a response under pressure. For university students, sessions typically involve working through problem sets and tutorials together, unpacking the economic intuition behind the maths, and making sure the theory connects to real-world application.
My academic background means I can go as deep as needed — from first-year micro and macro through to advanced econometrics, game theory, and policy analysis. I hold an MPhil in Economics from Oxford with Distinction and First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne, and I have spent two years at BCG applying economics to real problems across healthcare, government, and private equity.
Sessions are conducted via Zoom, which means flexible scheduling regardless of your location. I work with a small number of students at a time to keep the quality high.
