About Holly
Hi, I’m Holly. I’m an Oxford University graduate with a Master's in Chemistry. I have tutored students of all ages since 2016 for their maths/science exams and this helped me to support myself as a university student.
After graduation, I worked as an Investment Banker for 3 years but have now returned to tutoring full time, whilst also working as a yoga instructor.
In my free time I like to play sports, run, read and practise yoga!

I will do an introductory, free session to meet the student (and their parent if appropriate). This lesson will be used to get to know the student and build a rapport, as well as learning what the student would like to get out of their tuition. We will ideally compile a list of topics which the student has been finding the most challenging or where exam technique / confidence can be improved.
My approach to regular lessons will vary student to student and their way of leaning but typically will involve reviewing a specific topic, going through some guided examples with less and less involvement from myself. Overall, I am aiming to cement the student's knowledge in said topic and improve their confidence when it comes to approaching exam questions.
I can set homework (typically exam questions) if the student/parent wishes, but I will otherwise test the student’s ability throughout sessions to check the topic has been understood before moving on.
I like to use a visual approach with diagrams to explain concepts. I encourage questions and ask questions myself to consolidate learning.
