"Hello how are you? My name is Henrique, what's your name?"
This is probably how our foreign friends learn Portuguese abroad. MASSSSS, what do they listen to when they get here in Brazil?
“Hey man, everything quiet? I'm Henrique and you? What is it called?
Then it crashes...
My name is Henrique Verraci and I live in MG. I am 27 years old and, although I am a lawyer on paper, I am a teacher at heart. As a student and teacher of the English language, I've lived in the city of London, in England (miss you...), and in the city of Cairo, in Egypt.
As in the example up there, the first time I used the Underground in London, I stopped too. I had spent approximately nine years of my life studying English, and as soon as I needed to ask something, I stopped. That's why I'm here, to prevent you from getting stuck.
After six years of teaching English, French and even Portuguese to Brazilians and foreigners, I discovered that the language they teach around is different from the language spoken in the streets, in newspapers, in schools.
We spent 99% of the study learning rules, rules and rules, but when it came to talking (the most important point), we crashed. This is wrong. If you really want to be fluent in a language, whatever it is, here's a piece of advice: Listen more, speak more, form your own sentences, make your mistakes, correct yourself... That's how you learn and grow.
We're in the same boat. I currently study Italian and Spanish and, as a student, I know the path to follow in order to develop good speech, good grammar, etc. I'm really looking forward to showing you everything I've learned teaching abroad, using the English language every day, with everyone and everywhere.
In this course, we'll learn the language assembling our own sentences, listening to music, watching small videos, simulating everyday situations, anyway... It will be extremely fun.
Achieving fluency in a short time , although it demands discipline and a correct study, it is possible. I say this because the same methods I'm going to teach you are the ones I use in the studies of the current languages I'm learning.
He left speaking English!! I can guarantee that we will always be together, studying and growing in English, French, or even Portuguese.

After living in England and working in Egypt teaching English, I improved my teaching techniques in different ways, always looking for speech first (after all, we are here to speak a new language, aren't we?) .
So forget about being too young or too old to learn a new language. Both English and French are very important languages in the world today. If you are thinking of studying Portuguese, I invite you to walk with me through this language so beautiful (but which can be scary at ENEM or in public exams).
