About Abdul Duane
Dedicated space systems engineer and project manager, with excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills demonstrated by over 12 years of experience. I have a track record of improving designs whilst reducing costs and streamlining manufacturing processes. I am goal-orientated and highly motivated with strong project management and team leadership abilities. Evident ability to establish, lead, coordinate, motivate and manage cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams in engineering, community development and consultancy environments. Led the Pico satellite project (Isoun-sat) as project manager and systems engineer, as part of National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), technology capacity building programme. Space Mission Design and Research Management - Initiated the concept of using small S-band SAR satellites for solely remote sensing purposes of the Equatorial Region (ER), to address the various challenges of developing nations, at the University of Glasgow. Used analytical, statistical and numerical methods to complete the doctorate research, during which I also worked with the Space Advanced Research Team (Space-ART) on autonomous control of spacecraft in formation with collision avoidance capabilities and Near Earth Asteroids hazard mitigation mission optimisation. New technology concepts and technical project management – Lead System engineer for small satellite remote sensing mission, coordinating the technical progression of project and responsible to the team for system development life cycle, design, manufacture, system architecture, interfaces between subsystems, system end-to-end-test, validation and verification procedures, liaison with stakeholders, ensuring milestones are met, advising programme manage on long lead items using various tools such as Satellite Tool Kit, Microsoft Excel, and Matlab at AIRBUS UK; leading to the successful launch and operations, of NigeriaSat-2 (N2) and NigeriaSat-X (NX) spacecraft.
