About Freddie
Hi, my name is Freddie and I'm a French tutor looking to take on new students. I have just finished my degree in Management and French at the University of Bath, and have been studying French for upwards of 10 years and would love to help others develop their language skills.
I think learning languages is great because you can never really stop learning, so every lesson will teach you something new.
Having lived in Paris and Montreal, I have additional cultural and language experiences which add another layer to my teaching, helping you on your way to passing your GCSEs, A Levels or achieving fluency.

My teaching style is personalised and uses a mixture of French and English to get my students used to using a foreign language, whilst making sure they understand key concepts. Lessons can range from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the student. I always adapt my lessons to meet the specific needs and goals of each of my students. Additionally, having been in the same boat as many of my students, I understand the struggles that they face.
Lessons will begin by assessing your personal goals as well as your strengths and weaknesses, which will allow me to create a tailor-made program based on your individual needs. Whether that be grammar, vocabulary, or conversation skills, or all of the above, we can use a variety of teaching methods and to keep the lessons engaging and effective. These include speaking practice and translation tips and tricks, as well as grammar exercises and vocab reminders. If you are preparing for specific exams, such as an oral or reading/writing exams, I am able to provide topic specific lessons for a variety of areas including WW2 and French culture.
I have worked with students in lower years at university, in preparing them for their year abroad, so I have first-hand knowledge of how to deliver effective lessons for students of all capabilities. I'm looking forward to working with you and helping you improve your French!
