About Thomas
Having played the saxophone for over 15 years, I first began my journey studying classical and contemporary music. After achieving my Grade 8 and studying Music A Level during college, I began taking an interest in Jazz and Improvisational music. This led me to study Jazz Performance at the University of Chichester, offering me the opportunity to immerse myself in the study of past, present and future of the jazz canon as well as various other styles. Playing music in big bands, concert bands and orchestras as well as more intimate settings with Jazz Trios and Quartets, I now regularly play in the Brighton music scene as well as around the country.

Happy to take on students of any level within the Brighton and Hove area. My curriculum can be tailored to your learning goals and interests. Whether you want to start learning how to read music, or you are happy just playing by ear or want a mix of both, I can work with your preferred path of choice. If you are interested in working towards ABRSM or Trinity Classical/Jazz Grades, I can assist you in preparation for the exams. I am very much at home teaching Jazz and Improvisation, however, I am also experienced in teaching classical and pop styles. If you are also curious about writing your own material, I can offer Compositional techniques and guidance to begin your own writing journey. I am also DBS Checked.
