Hello, I’m Eliana! Professionally, I am a medical doctor, but my lifelong passion has always been languages, culture, and human connection.
You might wonder how medicine and language teaching connect. As a doctor, my daily life is built on empathy, patience, active listening, and a highly structured approach to problem-solving. I bring this exact same level of professionalism, dedication, and care into every single tutoring session. I know how to break down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps, and I am deeply committed to my students' success.
Beyond being a teacher, I am also a dedicated language learner. I currently speak four languages, which means I know exactly what it feels like to be in your shoes. I understand the frustration of hitting a plateau, the challenges of mastering a new grammar system, and the fear of making mistakes. Because I have been through the language acquisition process multiple times, I know exactly which strategies work and how to guide you past your blocks.
When I am not working in the medical field or teaching, I am a creative soul. I absolutely love reading, creative writing, and photography. A Typical Lesson Plan
To make sure you develop well-rounded skills, I use a mixed approach in every session. A typical 60-minute class includes a balance of conversation, grammar, reading, and listening:
Warm-up (10-15 min): Casual conversation to get you comfortable, break the ice, and get your brain thinking in the target language.
Core Structure (15 min): Introduction of a new grammar concept or vocabulary set using clear, classic teaching materials.
Interactive Practice (20 min): Applying what we just learned through multimedia. This might involve breaking down the lyrics of a popular song, analyzing a short video clip, or completing a targeted listening exercise.
Production & Review (10 min): Free conversation or role-play using the new vocabulary, followed by gentle feedback and setting goals for our next class.
