About Shalonda
I was born a United States citizen in the south Texas city Corpus Christi located on the Gulf of Mexico. I learned and have been practicing recognizing sounds of words my whole life through music. Before I was taught the letters of the alphabet I could put words together by the sounds in songs. The repetition of the songs help me to improve my memory and this has helped make me a successful aide in helping others learning to read.

The best teaching method that works personally through my own experience is sound before sight. Since we learn to listen before we speak then we can be better readers if we listen and then associate the word to the sounds.
