About Braxton
As a pianist of 15 years of experience, one could say that I have been playing a good little while. For me, it feels like only yesterday when I expressed an interest in the piano as a young child, and allowed myself the time to fully immerse in the songs that I could make using it. However, it was not until some time later that I realized that I wanted to help others learn what I had, and to be able to see the music from their own unique point of view. It is my firm belief that learning the piano should be a joy to the individual who plays it, not a burden.

For my lessons, I typically use the first 2 levels of the Alfred curriculum for those starting off fresh, and then we work up to the Faber curriculum at level 3, and follow it the rest of the way up. I much more prefer my students to have fun with learning the piano, so in addition to curriculum work, I have them pick a song of their own interest that also will assist them in learning the theory and technique of their lesson plan. This makes for more engaging lessons for my students, and it allows them to be able to make the music that they want to make.

Details
For lessons with me, price reflects skill level. For beginners, lessons start off at $25/hour, and at every 3rd level up, the hourly rate goes up by $5. For example, when a beginning student with me reaches level 3 from starting at level 1, the price will then be $30.
