About Raelene
Hi! I’m a guitar tutor with 4 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music with a focus on Guitar Traditions. My training combines academic study with real performance across multiple guitar styles. I especially enjoy metal, shred, and progressive rock. Fast playing and expressive solos inspire my teaching.
My lessons focus on building speed, precision, and control. Technique is the foundation. We work on alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, and advanced scale runs. These techniques are broken into small, manageable exercises.
I enjoy teaching both young learners and adult students. Every student learns differently. Lessons are adjusted to match individual goals. Some students want heavy riffs. Others want fast solos and progressive phrasing.
Music theory is always connected to real playing. Students learn how scales, modes, and rhythm create powerful music. Practice becomes purposeful and motivating. With patience and dedication, technical goals become achievable. Together we turn passion into confident, high-energy guitar playing.

My guitar teaching method focuses on building expressive lead skills and technical precision. I guide students in developing the tools to play solos that communicate emotion and musical ideas. Lessons cover phrasing, articulation, melodic shaping, and note choice. Students learn how to create solos that feel intentional, not random.
We approach improvisation gradually, using scales, arpeggios, and chord tones to build musical vocabulary. Techniques like bends, vibrato, slides, and hammer-ons are practiced carefully for expressive impact. These details give solos personality and depth. I also teach how to connect phrases so solos flow naturally.
Some students thrive on jazz-inspired improvisation and complex melodic thinking. Others focus on rock and blues solos with energy and attitude. I support both approaches, helping each student refine their individual voice. Technique, creativity, and listening grow together through structured exercises and real musical examples. The goal is confident, expressive soloing. Soon, you'll be shredding with confidence.
