About Nadirah
Hi! I’m Nadirah, an experienced English teacher and literacy coach with over a decade of helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. I’ve worked with diverse learners in classrooms and one-on-one, guiding students to not only improve their skills but also feel confident and proud of their progress. I believe every student has a story worth telling, and my goal is to help them find their voice while mastering reading comprehension, writing structure, and communication skills. I bring patience, cultural awareness, and a deep love of language to every session, tailoring lessons to match each student’s strengths and challenges. With my background in curriculum design and instructional coaching, I understand what teachers and schools expect, so I can bridge the gap between classroom learning and personalized support. Whether your child is preparing for an exam, catching up, or seeking enrichment, I’ll create a safe, supportive space where they can take risks, ask questions, and grow.

As a certified English and literacy teacher with years of classroom and coaching experience, I create student-centered, culturally responsive lessons that meet learners where they are. I focus on building confidence, strong reading comprehension, and clear writing skills through engaging activities, real-world texts, and personalized feedback.
How I Teach:
I begin each session with a quick goal-setting conversation so students know what success looks like.
Lessons typically include a warm-up, targeted instruction (on reading strategies, writing organization, or grammar), and guided practice where students get real-time feedback.
I end sessions with a reflection and next steps plan so progress feels concrete.
What Sets Me Apart:
I bring experience as a high school English teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum designer, which means I can adapt lessons for all learning styles and anticipate what teachers are looking for.
I specialize in helping reluctant readers and writers find their voice, drawing on texts and topics that reflect their interests and cultures.
I prioritize confidence and independence; my goal is for students to need me less over time.
Who I Work With:
Middle and high school students (grades 6–12)
College applicants seeking help with essays
Students needing test prep support (SAT/ACT verbal sections)
Learners of all backgrounds, including English Language Learners
