About Darren

With over 20 years of experience in education, I am a highly experienced Head of Drama, theatre director and examiner, specialising in performance, communication and confidence-building through drama and LAMDA tuition. Throughout my career, I have directed and produced a wide range of theatrical productions and supported students in achieving outstanding examination results and gaining places at leading drama schools and universities.
Alongside my teaching career, I work as a Pearson Examiner and Moderator, assessing performance-based qualifications at GCSE and A Level. My professional experience spans classroom teaching, curriculum leadership, youth theatre and one-to-one coaching, giving students expert guidance in acting, public speaking, speaking verse and prose, and communication skills.
I am passionate about helping young people grow in confidence, develop strong literacy and presentation skills, and discover a genuine love of performance and literature. Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are preparing for LAMDA graded exams, building confidence for secondary school, or aspiring to professional acting training in the future.

Through my company, Legends LAMDA Tuition, I offer specialist 1:1 online LAMDA tuition for children and young people aged 5–21, helping students build confidence, communication and performance skills through prestigious graded exams in acting, public speaking, speech and prose. Lessons are 30 minutes and charged at £25.00.
With over 20 years of teaching experience as a Head of Drama and Pearson Examiner, lessons are personalised, supportive and structured to help students grow in confidence while developing literacy, creativity and presentation skills.
Whether your child loves performing, needs support with speaking confidently, or wants to prepare for drama school in the future, lessons are tailored to individual goals and abilities. A free Discovery Session is available for new students.
