About Poppy
I am an experienced and passionate Flute instructor with over 14 years of teaching experience. I teach School students, College students, and working professionals who wish to learn flute for academics, performance, or personal interest.
My teaching approach is practical and student-focused. I begin with basics like posture, breath support, finger placement, and tone control. As students progress, I introduce advanced exercises, scales, and musical pieces to improve expression and confidence.
I believe strong communication helps students learn faster. I explain concepts clearly and provide demonstrations. Accountability is ensured through regular practice plans and progress tracking. I teach with integrity by offering honest feedback and positive encouragement.
In addition to flute training, I also teach music theory, notation reading, rhythm exercises, and performance skills. I assist students in preparing for exams, auditions, and concerts.
My unique strength is my calm and patient teaching style. I adapt lessons to suit different age groups and professional schedules, helping students stay motivated and disciplined in their learning.

Creativity is at the heart of my lessons. I guide students to explore different musical styles, improvise, and even compose their own short pieces. This not only strengthens technical skills but also develops artistic expression. Flexibility is another crucial aspect of my approach—I adapt lesson plans and exercises based on progress, challenges, or individual preferences, ensuring students remain motivated and confident.
In addition to flute instruction, I incorporate music theory, rhythm practice, sight-reading, and listening exercises to enhance overall musicianship. My methodology ensures students develop strong technical skills, musical awareness, and expressive ability, while fostering a genuine passion for the flute that lasts well beyond the lessons.
