About Alfred
I'm Fred Morris, a guitarist and songwriter with over a decade's experience playing in bands, mostly in the post-punk scene. I strongly believe in teaching music as an art form for creative expression rather than a science to be learnt systematically - jamming and collaborating is, to me, a big part of the point of music! Theory is a tool which can be utilised to help communicate between musicians as shorthand rather than a prerequisite to play. Therefore, my teaching would involve a lot of interactivity and hands-on experimentation rather than staring at charts and diagrams. I can teach students the core technical skills on the guitar (electric and acoustic) and bass guitar, and aim to equip students with tools for creative expression.

I can:
-Teach electric and acoustic guitar, as well as bass fundamentals
-Teach the necessary skills to play in a band, as I have experience gigging for over 8 years with multiple bands
-Teach guitar for punk, rock, funk and pop
-Teach with a focus on feeling, and learning by ear
-Teach basic theory, especially at GCSE level
