About Charlotte
I am a Trinity TESOL-accredited English Teacher and Persian & Arabic language graduate from SOAS University, London, with extensive experience tutoring Persian 121.
I currently live and work in Istanbul as an English language instructor for MEF University, a leading university in the Flipped Learning approach, and I continue to tutor English and Persian privately online.
Before coming to Istanbul, I taught in language schools, privately and for community projects. I did my BA in Arabic and Persian languages, spending time in Jordan, Palestine, and Iran.
Additionally, I worked as an online coordinator for Persian Language Online. In this role, my focus was on creating educational content for the Spoken Persian dialect, which you can find on the website persianlanguageonline.
I also worked for the council as a refugee resettlement project officer, supporting families from Afghanistan who were waiting for housing. As well as using my interpretation skills, I also organised and ran additional English grammar and conversational classes for the women.

I apply my training and experience as an English instructor to the lessons, following a language-teaching methodology that promotes language production in class as much as possible. I review target language and grammar regularly so that you can build on your language knowledge and gain confidence in speaking.
I create learning materials which also allow me to tailor the grammar and topics to your needs.
As a language learner and instructor, I am constantly growing and learning as a teacher, and I am also aware of how different each student is, so I always encourage open feedback on the lessons.
I suit beginners and low-intermediates who want to learn the grammar whilst developing their speaking & listening skills.

Perfect! Charlotte is just fabulous. She tailored the lesson to suit my learning style and I feel I have progressed in conversational farsi far quicker than any previous lessons or study. Our sessions are great fun, I couldn’t recommend highly enough. Biggest thanks Charlotte :)

Charlotte helped me a lot to improve my Persian. She was always really patient and kind. Her lessons were thorough, super engaging, and always with a sense of humour!
She is a fantastic professor; I highly recommend having lessons with her if someone aims to practice speaking skills or is starting to learn the language like me! :)I am half Persian and have been taking Farsi lessons with Charlie to brush up on my conversational skills. Charlie is an incredible tutor who has such a kind and thoughtful teaching style. She takes time to prepare materials for lessons, and gives me flexibility to choose what I would like to learn. She is a natural and gifted communicator who always makes me feel comfortable and encouraged (even when I make mistakes!) Her Persian accent is flawless and by not being an Iranian native herself, she really understands what the challenges of learning Farsi are - and is able to pre empt the trickier concepts. I always looks forward to me lessons, and I could not recommend her more highly!
