About Jenna
Hi, I’m Jenna! I’m a university professor, published researcher, and academic writer with a PhD and a strong background in quantitative research methods. My professional work involves teaching and mentoring master’s and doctoral students, conducting research, publishing academic work, and providing detailed feedback on graduate-level writing.
I know that academic writing can be challenging at any stage-- from figuring out how to organize your ideas to responding to extensive feedback on a thesis or dissertation. I enjoy helping writers work through those challenges and develop writing that is clear, well-organized, evidence-based, and genuinely reflects their own ideas and voice.
My experience includes academic and research writing, literature reviews, research design and methodology, quantitative analysis, interpretation of results, and APA 7th edition formatting. I’m especially comfortable working with graduate-level research and helping students communicate complex ideas and analyses clearly.
My goal is to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback in a supportive and professional environment. Whether you’re working on a course paper, thesis, dissertation, research project, or professional writing, I’ll meet you where you are and help you identify practical next steps for strengthening your work.

My approach to tutoring is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each writer’s goals. I’m Jenna, a university professor with a PhD and experience teaching and mentoring master’s and doctoral students. Rather than simply correcting a paper, I help students understand how to strengthen their own writing and apply those skills to future work.
A typical lesson starts with what you’re working on and where you feel stuck. We might review a draft together, talk through instructor or committee feedback, strengthen an argument, reorganize a section, work on clarity and flow, or focus on editing, citations, and APA 7th edition formatting. For thesis and dissertation writers, I can also provide support with literature reviews, research questions, methodology, organization, and responding to feedback.
I also have a strong background in quantitative research and can help students understand and clearly communicate quantitative methods, analyses, results, tables, and findings in their academic writing.
What sets my tutoring apart is my experience on both sides of academic writing-- as a researcher and published academic writer and as a professor who regularly teaches, mentors, and provides feedback to graduate students. I understand what strong academic writing is expected to accomplish, but I also know that getting there can feel overwhelming.
I primarily work with graduate students, including master’s and doctoral students, as well as professionals who want support with academic or professional writing. Whether you need help getting started, strengthening a draft, working through research or methods sections, or polishing a nearly finished project, we’ll focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference.
