About Joss
I am a passionate scholar with a deep interest in feminist politics and queer theory, in addition to film studies and the contemporary media landscape. I have always held immense enthusiasm for the arts, politics, and the cinema. My interests have consistently orientated themselves toward these facets (among many others) of cultural studies; these pursuits have also fed into my activist work with queer cultural institutions and eco-conscious raising projects. With the unique experiences provided by the three universities I have had the fortune to study within (Bournemouth, Bristol, Durham), I believe I can be a great source of insight and knowledge for student studying GCSE, A-Level, or any strand of higher education course in media studies.

Unlock the vibrant world of transnational cinema and screen cultures with personalised tutoring! Currently engaged in a postgraduate degree (PhD) specialising in queer film festivals, I bring my extensive knowledge and experience to help you navigate the dynamic landscape of cinema. With an MA in Film & Television Studies from the University of Bristol, my independent research covers transhistorical, postcolonial, diasporic, gender, and LGBTQIA+ cinemas, with a keen interest in feminism and queer theory. Currently partnered with the renowned British Film Institute (BFI), I can offer unique insights into contemporary (and historical) cinemas from across the globe. I have experience in teaching media to students at all levels and age ranges, and maintain a diverse methodological arsenal that includes (but is not limited to): critical analysis, concept discussions, and close reading sessions.
