About Esther
I'm a highly experienced tutor with over 7 years of experience in tutoring and teaching. Most of my experience has been through other tutoring sites or by word of mouth, and I'm now also using this site so I can help more students! I have an excellent record in helping and inspiring students, leading them to grow in confidence and excel in their exams. You can be next!
I'm a recent PhD graduate and just completed my degree in Chemistry at an Ivy League university in the USA. Prior to this, I studied at a prestigious Russell Group and redbrick university in the UK. I have an excellent academic background and have always enjoyed being able to tutor and mentor others.
From my many years of experience in mentoring and tutoring, I have become excellent at understanding what a student already knows and explaining what they don't. I am patient and clear in explaining things, and I am good at knowing what an exam board is looking for in a student's answers.
I also give advice in areas such as personal statement writing, studying abroad during your degree (I've studied in the USA), working abroad (I've also worked in Spain), etc.
I'm also more than happy to give general advice about school, university applications, etc.

My sessions will be very much tailored to what the students need: how much they know and whether they need help with understanding concepts or answering questions well, or both. Before the sessions, I will find out which topics the students want to look at, and find the necessary resources so that I am prepared for the sessions. These materials may be a combination of textbook, class notes, and online resources. During the sessions I often give an overview of the topics and we will go through questions together to highlight issues and misunderstandings. Students will be free to ask any questions as they come up.
