About David
I am an experienced tutor in preparing for A level and GCSEs and have had a strong track record of helping them get top marks. Previous clients have been extremely happy with their children’s academic success and have noted that they ‘really enjoyed their sessions.’ Former students have gone on to successful destinations, for example, reading politics at Warwick. I combine expert academic knowledge with pedagogy and teaching techniques as my main position is in one of the top ten non-selective state schools in the country. Working in a school I have lots of experience engaging one-on-one with sixth formers and am patient and encouraging. I have a strong track record bringing out the best in students both academically and garnering a love of the subject.
I can assist with coursework or on exam preparation focusing on British, American, Jewish, or European history in any time period. I have a passion for history and helping students achieve their potential in exams. I have recently completed a PhD in History at University College London. I taught modern British and American history at UCL and Queen Mary, University of London. I also taught writing at UCL. I currently work helping students prepare applications for university. I am confident in the specification for multiple exam boards and have worked with students with varying learning needs. I cater my sessions to the needs and desires of the students, for example I would also be very happy to work with students on just their writing skills for history.
