About Callum
I am a PhD student at the university of Southampton holding an MChem degree in chemistry. I have previously conducted a research project in computational protein dynamics. Following this I was accepted for a PhD in computational chemistry, during which I intend to further my teaching ability in chemistry and other related scientific areas. This qualification gives me the unique perspective of being able to teach mathematics and chemistry from a contextual point of view, explaining why students are taught these techniques and how they are derived.
Previously I have had experience in tutoring maths and chemistry with multiple students. Further to this I have partaken in teaching days at the university in which I demonstrated and assisted in performing simple experiments.

My teaching method is to teach through understanding of the basic concepts which make up the subject. Rather than tell students what they have to remember I instead show them why the answers are what they are and teach them how to arrive at these answers themselves.

Callum is a remarkable tutor with a talent for breaking down mathematical concepts into very understandable ideas. After discussing my strengths and weaknesses, we devised a plan to help me feel more comfortable with mathematical physics.
