About Roshan
Hello. I am a professional mechanical engineer with strong background in research and development. I have recently completed my PhD where I worked with a leading industry partner in manufacturing novel wear resistant materials. I take great pleasure in understanding the mechanical behaviour of materials, especially metals when subjected to severe working conditions, followed by application of this knowledge in designing improved alloys. Some of the alloys that I have designed are in prototype stage and being commissioned for use in the mining industry. I also have a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from KPMG and experience in managing continuous improvement projects.
Prior to joining PhD, I have worked as a Lecturer for a year. I find teaching to be a really fulfilling job and intend to pursue a career in academia. I find great joy in interacting with students and always encourage my students to ask questions and be curious.
I have graduated from a premier engineering institute in India and maintained high academic grades throughout my education. I was ranked within the top 1% of mechanical engineering graduates (~200,000) who attempted the reputed GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) examination in India.

I focus on strong understanding of fundamental concepts and subsequent application of the concepts in problem solving. I encourage the student to ask questions and make the session as interactive as possible.
I follow a student centred approach to initially understand the strengths and weaknesses of each individual and tailor the teaching method accordingly.
My lessons are primarily intended for university students attending either graduate or post-graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgy and related fields.
(Subjects include: Strength of Material, Theory of Machines, Engineering Mechanics, Metal Cutting and Machining Sciences, Metrology, Materials science and Metallurgy, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulic machines and Thermodynamics)
