About Mary
Hello and welcome to my page
I am passionate about Science, Physics, Mathematics and teaching students. I hold a PhD in Physics from Imperial College London, and I have fifteen years experience in academia working as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at top universities, including at Harvard Medical School, Imperial and Strathclyde.
I’ve been working as a private tutor for the past five years with students at KS2, KS3, GCSE, A levels, Science and Engineering undergraduates and adult students. I am proud to report that I have helped many students to increase their confidence, achieve high grades and consult them on their academic choices.
I am a very enthusiastic and passionate tutor with high interpersonal skills who tries to explain the complex and challenging context in a very friendly and pleasant to understand way. All my students were very successful in their exams and very pleased with my methodology and educational approaches.
I love Science, Technology and I had been a Science Ambassador at Imperial College London, for three years. I helped promote Science via STEM activities at schools in London and Europe. I have visited top British schools in Brussels and London such as St Paul’s Girls School, Westminster Academy and Harris Academy. I have demonstrated experiments at Science fairs. All the students were very excited and happy with my academic talks and experimental demonstrations.
I am a qualified teacher, and I have worked in secondary education. I have QTS and DBS. I have worked with various agencies, and I have a lot of 5-star recommendations.

Perfect! Maths with Mary T
Mary T has tutored our daughter who is quite good at Maths and wants to take Further Maths GCSE and make it into an upcoming Mathletics competition and after one lesson she accomplished that goal. We have been impressed with our daughter's continued progress and enthusiasm each time she is tutored by Mary. We are now setting up Skype lessons, due to Coronavirus self-isolating, during Spring Break since our daughter is actually requesting tutoring by Dr. Mary over the holiday break, which is spectacular. She is also looking forward to Physics tutoring in future which is another of her favourite subjects knowing Dr. Mary is well qualified to teach. PhD in Physics! We are so fortunate to have found such a perfect match for our daughter who is eager for her next lesson.

Mary gave a good first lesson in maths so we decided to hire her for physics and it hasn't worked out, we don't think she is prepared to teach more challenging questions and took quite a lot of turns to come up with some answers -- perhaps she is good for basic physics or for someone that is a bit lost.

We weren't with Mary long because the school finally agreed to offer my son after hours tuition.
However, my son found Mary professional, patient (important!) and was able to grasp a new understanding of problem areas in Maths. It was a good grounding for him.During Marys tutoring, she was up to time keeping.
Marys tutoring is beneficial. She possesses skill and knowledge to pass information to student without causing confusion to student.Mary T is a highly qualified graduate who has studied and worked in Greece, Harvard MA and Imperial College, London She has both a practical and theoretical knowledge of Mathematics. She is decidedly suitable for tutoring those with a knowledge of basic mathematics who wish to advance their knowledge to A and AS mathematics. Besides her knowledge of that subject she is likeable, personable, reliable and conscientious. Unusually too, as a woman, she is an excellent role model for other women and girls in what is still a man's subject. I have no doubt she will make an excellent tutor in mathematics.
Mary has taught our son but also a number of friend’s children for entrance exams for secondary schools in London last year. She was a very meticulous, extremely well qualified, knowledgeable and well informed on all the latest theories as well as the standard issues around her taught subjects. She was able to teach not just Science & Maths but also Geometry, Physics, Biology and related subjects. She took her time to understand the individual needs of our son and all the other children we recommended her to. We thoroughly recommend her.
