About Lin
I am a piano tutor with over 10 years of experience teaching college students, helping them grow in both skill and creativity. My teaching style is student-centred and adaptable, ensuring lessons suit each learner’s pace and goals.
I emphasise proper technique, sight-reading, rhythm, and music theory while making lessons engaging through improvisation, composition exercises, and contemporary music integration.
I also work on performance confidence and musical expression so students can play with feeling and clarity. My goal is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students enjoy learning and develop a lifelong passion for piano.

My approach to teaching piano is student-focused, creative, and structured. I aim to help students enjoy learning while developing strong technical and musical skills.
Creativity is incorporated through improvisation, creative exercises, and exploring different music styles. Students are encouraged to express themselves and stay engaged throughout each lesson.
As a mentor and critical thinker, I guide students to understand rhythm, finger technique, scales, chords, and musical expression in simple language. Students learn to analyse their playing and improve step by step.
Accountability is emphasised through goal setting, structured practice routines, and regular progress reviews. This helps students stay disciplined, consistent, and confident in their learning.
Along with piano, I teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm skills, keyboard basics, and simple composition to support comprehensive musical growth.
