About Amanda
I started piano at 4 and guitar at 13, and music has shaped most of my life since. I'm classically trained, with RCM Level 8 in both guitar and music theory, and I play piano at an RCM Level 10 standard. I picked up ukulele during summers studying abroad, and it's become one of my favorite instruments to teach, especially to beginners who want an instant sense of accomplishment. Alongside teaching, I perform at private events and sponsored functions, and host a classical radio show in Hamilton!
I believe real progress comes from small, daily engagement with your instrument, not just a weekly lesson. To support my teaching philosophy, I built cadenza.social, my daily check-in platform, and why everything I do with my students is built around steady, consistent practice.
Over the past 4 years I've worked with more than 20 students, with an approach that's personalized, technical, and (very) enjoyable. My students build a strong musical foundation while also playing the music they love along the way!

Hi there! I'm a classically trained musician, and for the past 4 years I've had the joy of teaching guitar, ukulele, and piano to students of all ages in studio and private lessons.
For families in Hamilton and Toronto, I offer in-home lessons. I come to you, so music fits gently into your week without the after-school rush or the drive across the city. For adult learners, and for students outside the GTA, I offer online lessons that are every bit as personal and effective, and a lovely fit for busy schedules.
All of my students get access to cadenza.social, a daily check-in platform I built to keep practice feeling easy and consistent between lessons. It takes the pressure off parents, softens any little power struggles that happen at the piano bench, and helps students build real, steady momentum. The kind that leads to genuine confidence and the ability to actually perform the music they love! On the app, they are able to access performance opportunities and theory game features, as well as connect with the local music community.
