About Asher
My journey as a piano teacher began with a fascination for the instrument’s expressive potential and its ability to communicate emotion. I hold a B.Mus in Piano Performance and Music Education, which provided training in technique, interpretation, pedagogy, and repertoire. Over 9 years, I have guided learners of all ages, helping them develop technical skill, musical expression, and performance confidence.
I focus on a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to each learner’s strengths, interests, and goals. By combining technical exercises with creative repertoire practice, I ensure learners progress steadily while enjoying the music. Many students report increased confidence, motivation, and expressive ability through this method.
Outside of teaching, I remain actively engaged in performance, collaborative music projects, and pedagogical research, which allows me to bring practical insights and contemporary repertoire to lessons. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners transform technical skill into artistic expression and develop confidence as musicians.

Piano lessons are most effective when students combine technical skill with expressive artistry. My lessons focus on finger independence, hand coordination, scales, arpeggios, sight-reading, repertoire building, rhythm, and dynamics. I use structured exercises, creative improvisation, and repertoire practice to help learners develop both technique and musical expression. Lessons encourage students to connect emotionally with music, explore stylistic interpretation, and build confidence through performance practice.
I adapt lesson plans to suit individual skill levels. Beginners focus on hand positioning, basic finger exercises, note reading, simple melodies, and rhythm. Intermediate learners refine technical accuracy, musical phrasing, dynamics, and sight-reading. Advanced students work on expressive interpretation, complex repertoire, improvisation, and performance preparation. Each session incorporates structured practice, creative exploration, and feedback to ensure measurable progress.
Piano lessons also promote discipline, patience, and self-expression. Students gain confidence performing both in private and public settings and develop a deep appreciation for music. My goal is to support learners in mastering technical skills, fostering expressive artistry, and nurturing a lifelong love for piano performance.
