About William
I am a dedicated piano tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and over 8 years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. My journey with piano began in early childhood, and over the years, it transformed from a personal passion into a professional commitment to music education. Teaching allows me to share not only my knowledge but also the joy and discipline that music has brought to my life. My teaching approach is supportive, patient, and tailored to individual learning styles. I believe that every student brings something unique to the instrument, and it’s my role to help them discover their musical voice. Whether guiding beginners through their first notes or helping more advanced players refine their technique, I strive to create a positive and structured environment where progress feels natural and rewarding. Beyond private teaching, I have experience in accompanying, ensemble work, and music workshops, all of which deepen my understanding of how music connects people. Piano lessons are crafted to suit each student's individual pace, interests, and goals—whether you're just starting or returning to the keys after some time away. Lessons provide a structured yet creative space to develop both technical ability and musical understanding. Every session blends discipline with enjoyment, helping students build confidence and consistency through approachable steps.
Foundational areas such as sight-reading, hand coordination, and music theory are introduced early and reinforced consistently. Beginners will start with simple melodies, rhythm exercises, and posture techniques, while advancing students explore expressive phrasing, dynamic control, and more complex compositions. Technique is always taught with care to avoid tension and support long-term playing health.
Students are encouraged to engage with a wide range of repertoire, from classical to contemporary, based on their interests. This keeps learning fresh and enjoyable while building versatile skills. Theory is taught alongside performance, making sure students understand what they’re playing and why, empowering them to read and interpret music independently.
