About Madison
I am a guitarist and teacher with more than 4 years of experience, holding a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies. My main focus is helping students sharpen their ear training skills. I teach students how to transcribe solos so they can understand music at its core. We work on identifying chord progressions by ear, which is vital for improvisation and collaboration. Developing pitch recognition is also a key part of my lessons. Ear training transforms the way you connect with the guitar. It turns music into something you feel and understand, not just something you read. My approach is structured but flexible, so each student moves at the right pace. I provide practical exercises alongside creative challenges. Students often discover they can play with more confidence and freedom after just a few weeks. My lessons are designed to open your ears as well as your mind. Together, we’ll expand your musicianship through the art of listening.

My guitar teaching centres on showing how theory works in real music. I use scales, modes, and chords not as abstract ideas, but as tools to create sound. Lessons cover chord construction and harmonic analysis to deepen your understanding. I believe that once theory is connected to the fretboard, everything feels easier. Students learn how to move from shapes to ideas, and from ideas to music. We practise scales and modes in ways that directly apply to improvisation. Chords are explored through patterns, inversions, and progressions. Each lesson is a mix of structured learning and creative application. I support students who want to shine as performers or grow as serious musicians. Both discover how theory strengthens their style. My teaching is patient and interactive, with clear goals set each session. I encourage experimentation as much as discipline. By combining knowledge with play, we build a strong foundation for expression. The result is music that feels both fluent and personal.
