About Marta
I am passionate about working with children and young people, especially those with SENDs, and I really enjoy teaching Polish language which is my first language. My students are learning through exploring a variety of different topics. Their homework is always very practical and involves using creativity and not just the knowledge. All students have an opportunity to speak, read and write during the lesson, and have frequent spelling tests and writing tasks. I have been working in education for 13 years now, and I would never change my job, as it brings me a real joy. I am calm and patient, and I have a good sense of humour and a positive approach to teaching.

In my lessons I emphasise a blend of direct instructions, inquiry - based learning and a student - centred approach. The length of the lesson is 1 hour. My lessons are designed for primary and secondary school students (age range 5- 13), however anyone can benefit from them, as I easily adapt them depending on the level of the person’s knowledge. My classroom is a friendly environment, where everyone feels comfortable and valued, no matter how advanced they are in speaking polish or if they have any special educational needs/ disabilities. I have an experience in teaching students with Autism, ADHD, MLD. The students are learning a lot about the polish culture and traditions, and not just the language their parents or grandparents speak. I adapt my lessons considering the individual needs, passions and interests of the students. The students’ voice is very important to me, and I highly appreciate their feedback that I use when I plan and prepare my lessons.
