About Viktor
I’m Ukrainian, but I’ve been living in Portugal for the past 11 years, since I was 15. I know from personal experience what it feels like to learn a language, adapt to a new culture and slowly become confident enough to communicate and make friends.
I studied Computer Engineering at a Portuguese university, so Portuguese has been a real part of my everyday life for many years - not just a language I studied from a textbook.
I started teaching Portuguese and quickly realised how much I enjoyed it. What began as something I simply wanted to try eventually became my profession. I’ve also worked as a Senior Teacher at a language school.
I have Portuguese and Brazilian friends and spend my everyday life in this environment, so I can help you with more than just vocabulary and grammar. I understand the real-life side of learning Portuguese - from your first awkward conversations to feeling comfortable speaking with people.
And one more thing: I’ve been playing classical guitar for 19 years. So repeating something 10, 20 or 50 times until it finally clicks? I’m very used to that

How I teach
I explain new material clearly and simply, following a structured course book. At the same time, I add examples and situations from real life so you can understand how Portuguese is actually used.
For homework, I usually give vocabulary and grammar to learn. But in the next lesson, we don’t just check it on paper - we talk about it, use the new words and grammar, and speak about related topics.
It might feel unusual at first, but you’ll get used to it quickly
I also always ask how you’re feeling and how much energy you have that day, so I know how much I can expect from you
