About Dr Declan
I have a broad international teaching experience that cuts across A level, undergraduate and post graduate levels. Teaching and research have been a passion for me since 2001 and this is reflected in my achievements over the years. I research, prepare and deliver lectures in the broad areas of Politics and International Relations, and research methodology in the social sciences.

The strengths of my teaching lie in (1) my ability to help convene programmes as required and ensuring all aspects of a programme run smoothly, (2) inclusivity and adaptation to appropriate teaching methods to suit different needs; (3) ability to actively engage in scholarly activities appropriate to ensure my specialist subject knowledge is fully up to date, (4) and continuous improvement in teaching methods. I like to seek feedback from students to improve my teaching and to enhance their learning experience. My teaching philosophy is student-led teaching using differentiation and scaffolding techniques. I use both activity and group styles for effective learning
