About Izzy
I’m Isabelle, an LLM student in Medical Law and Ethics at the University of Edinburgh, following a First-Class degree in Politics with Media and Communication. I have consistently achieved Firsts across all my undergraduate essays, and I am now expanding my academic interests into law. Alongside my studies, I volunteer as an Assistant Editor for SCRIPTed, an academic journal of Law, Technology & Society, an experience that strengthens my editorial precision and deepens my passion for clear, accessible communication. Teaching and supporting students has always been central to who I am. During my final undergraduate year, I was a Peer Mentor, supporting first-year students academically and personally, and leading an essay-writing workshop designed to build confidence before assessments. Before that, my work as a Level 2 swim teacher taught me the importance of patience, adaptation, and creating a motivating environment for children with diverse needs. I’ve helped anxious learners gain confidence in the water, and I bring the same empathy and encouragement to academic tutoring. I want to teach because I believe learning should be interactive, empowering, and centred around each student’s individual strengths. My lessons are fun, proactive, and confidence-focused, built to support children and pre-university students who want to improve their English skills, develop strong writing, or deepen their critical thinking. I take the time to understand each student’s unique needs and learning style, ensuring they feel supported, capable, and genuinely excited about their progress.

Drawing on my strong English skills and academic experience, I create a supportive space where students feel confident, engaged, and genuinely excited to learn. I believe that great teaching is personal, proactive, and responsive, so I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals. My aim is always to boost confidence, nurture curiosity, and help students discover their own voice and potential. With me, learning isn’t just effective—it’s enjoyable, empowering, and built around the individual.
