About Ciara

I enjoy teaching and have a passion for helping others learn! I'm currently teaching math and science to middle and high school students, and am seeking more students who are motivated to learn. I graduated with a Master's in Earth and Environmental Science from Tulane University in 2014. Since graduating, I've worked in the fields of consulting and eco-tourism, and have found that education is the most enriching career for me. I also enjoy traveling, reading, music, and the ocean (I also offer surf lessons!).
I developed a strong desire to teach during grad school, where I led many seminar classes. This experience helped me find ways to translate advanced concepts in an intuitive way to my fellow students.
I have a background in environmental science, and have a strong knowledge of math and general science, including physics, chemistry, ecology, and geology. More specifically, I studied biogeochemistry in graduate school, which is the study of how major elements, such as carbon, interact with the atmosphere, oceans, and biosphere.
