About Theresa
Hi, I’m Tessa. I understand how challenging VCE can be - because I’ve been there. In Year 11, I really struggled. I was overwhelmed, unsure of how to study effectively, and didn’t know how to approach my subjects with confidence. But over time, I taught myself the study skills, habits, and mindset needed to not only keep up, but excel. In Year 12, I applied what I learned and achieved a 99.3 ATAR. That experience shaped the way I now tutor. I know firsthand how frustrating it feels to be stuck, and how powerful it is to finally understand how to learn. I want to help students feel that same sense of clarity and confidence. I’ve spent years becoming familiar with the VCE system - I understand what assessors are looking for, how to break down criteria, and how to approach SACs and exams strategically. Most importantly, I aim to meet each student where they’re at. I tailor my lessons to suit individual learning styles and help build not only subject knowledge, but long-term skills in study, writing, and self-belief.

My approach is highly personalised - I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, needs, and goals. I regularly incorporate past VCAA exams and examiner’s reports into lessons to help students understand how to break down complex prompts, identify high-level responses, and develop SAC and exam strategies. We work together to unpack what assessors are really looking for - focusing on keywords, task breakdowns, and marking criteria - so students can write with clarity, precision, and confidence under timed conditions. Sessions typically run for 60–90 minutes and can include targeted content support, essay development, or conceptual discussion. I graduated with a 99.3 ATAR, received the Premier’s Award for Studio Arts, and completed my Literature degree at Deakin with a 3.96 GPA and full academic scholarship. I work best with VCE and high-school students who want thoughtful, creative, and structured support across Literature, Philosophy, and Arts-based subjects.
