About Gavy
Chess has been a cornerstone of my personal discipline, teaching me how to analyse complex positions, calculate ahead under pressure, and formulate clear strategies—the exact same analytical mindset I apply in my legal studies.
Having worked through my own rating progression from a beginner to a 1600 Elo competitive player, I know exactly where most players get stuck: blundering under pressure, lacking a plan in the middlegame, or getting lost in opening theory. I bridge that gap by teaching practical, high-impact principles that instantly improve your decision-making on the board.

FIDE 1600 Elo Chess Coach & Law Student | Tactical Mastery & Opening Fundamentals for Beginners to Intermediates
Hello! I am a competitive chess player holding a 1600 Elo rating and a Law student at Leeds Law School
My approach to chess combines structured calculation with deep tactical understanding. Over years of competitive play, I have developed a clear, step-by-step framework designed to take players from blundering pieces to playing with confidence, plan formulation, and positional awareness. Whether you are a total beginner trying to learn the board or a 1000–1400 online player stuck on a plateau, I break down complex concepts into simple, actionable patterns you can use in your next game.
