About Lewis
I am a professional actor and stand up music comedian. I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2011 and have been working as an actor, comedian and podcaster since then. When self-taping started to become popular, I helped a lot of my peers from Guildhall by reading in for them. I got a kick out of this and making the tapes look and sound as good as possible. Over the last 4 years, I have collected the equipment and experience to get the best out of actors when taping for a job. I work from my home in West London and try my best to create a relaxed environment, which seems to be one of my best features, according to my usual clients. When I'm not busy I work for Guildhall on the intake auditions and have been through the process of auditioning and getting in my self.

The way I work is quite simple. For self-tapes, we read the scene(s) through once or twice to gain familiarity and comfort. Have a chat about anything you are unclear or unsure of and iron out those creases. We then record the scene(s). The first recording is treated as a warm-up but is often sendable! We will then record another 2-3 max, only looking back at the footage once we have a couple done. We actors can get caught up on self-tapes and could spend hours recording, again and again. Part of my job is to call it before you lose focus and energy. In my experience its usually the second or third take we end up sending. Once we are done I will send the files to you via wetransfer to send on to your Agent. I have helped actors from all walks of life with self-tapes. In my opinion, the most important thing is to feel comfortable and have a competent but calm reader who is aware that it is not their audition!
Audition prep for Drama Schools. - I take an equally relaxed approach. It is not my job to tell you how to do it but rather to help you understand the piece in such a way that you can share it with confidence when the time comes for your audition.
Firstly I will watch you perform the monologue and then we will talk through the various possibilities of how the speech could go. We will workshop different ideas and choices between each reading of the piece and conclude by making sure you feel comfortable with the choices you have made. Throughout the session, I will give you guidance on any areas of technique that might help you and tailor a warm-up routine suitable for you to do before your audition. I want you to leave the lesson feeling confident in your own ability and equipped with the tools to approach ANY audition you may have in the future.
