About Sergio
I'm Sergio, and I want to say something that probably sounds a little weird coming from a guitar teacher — I think the way most people learn guitar is set up to make them quit.
Not intentionally. But the traditional approach — heavy on verbal instruction, light on visual demonstration, structured around getting through material rather than actually enjoying it — creates a learning experience that's more exhausting than it needs to be. And then when someone quits six months in, everyone blames the student's commitment rather than asking whether the lessons were actually any good.
I spent the first couple of years of my teaching career doing things the standard way. And then I started paying attention to what was actually working and what wasn't. The students who stuck around weren't necessarily the ones who practiced the most. They were the ones who were having the most fun. And the ones who had the most fun were almost always the ones who could see what they were supposed to be doing — not just hear it described.
So I rebuilt everything around those two things. Visual learning because it works faster and sticks harder. And an approach that feels genuinely engaging because engagement is what makes people keep showing up — which is ultimately the only thing that produces real progress.
Seven years of students across every age and skill level later, I'm pretty sure I got it right.

About the lesson

First lesson, we figure out where you are and what you actually want to do with the guitar. Not in a formal assessment way — just a real conversation. Your favorite songs, the sounds that made you want to play in the first place, what you've tried before and how it went.
From there, everything is shown before it's practiced. Chord shapes get demonstrated visually so the logic of them is obvious before your fingers try to make them. Strumming patterns get broken down in a way your eyes can follow before your hand does. The fretboard — which most guitarists spend years trying to make sense of — gets mapped visually in a way that suddenly makes the whole thing feel a lot less mysterious.
Lessons are structured to feel like forward motion the whole way through. Something to achieve in every session. Something satisfying to work toward between sessions. A clear picture at all times of where you are and what's coming next.
It doesn't feel like grinding. It genuinely doesn't. And that's the whole point.
