About Eugene
I am a journalist who has written for the ABC and SBS, a writer of fiction published in print magazines such as Mous Magazine, Eyebag Magazine, and Page Seventeen Literary Magazine, and a PhD candidate at RMIT, where I am researching travel writing and migration stories.
I have also been involved in dozens of writers' groups and workshops over the last seven years, from university classes, casual meetups, and formal groups at community centres.

My teaching method is casual and conversational, with a focus on reflection. Reflecting on your writing is where you can fully explore your thoughts to understand the concepts and ideas in your mind, and is the best way to truly learn this practice and succeed in this industry.
I teach habits and processes through which reflection can improve your writing, be it essays, short stories, or journalism. It allows you to understand your thoughts and voice, so that your next story can come naturally, with a steady sense of purpose and confidence.
Creatives who are able to think critically and honestly about their own work, and those who learn best through "doing" will enjoy and benefit most from these lessons.
