About Torsten

I’m an experienced keyboardist, pianist, composer and session musician who has covered a wide range of different styles of music. I’ve released and performed music both solo under my own name and as part of multiple different groups (Hexcut, Prudent Primate, Paper Dragon), which have covered classical, jazz, rock, electronic, dub, neo-soul and ambient. I've played live across the UK, including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London on multiple occasions. My true passion lies in self-expression and finding my own voice with the instrument.

About the lesson

Do you want to learn how to play keys and don’t know where to start? Are you experienced in one style of play and want to try others? Just bought a synth and want to know how to use it? I’ve got you covered! I can tailor your lessons to exactly what you want, whether it’s learning classical pieces, improvisation or anything else! I’ll do a free chat with you (in person or remote) before we begin so we can go through what you’d like to learn and form a plan! All ages and experience levels welcome.

Torsten has been giving me weekly piano lessons for almost a month now. He is very friendly and patient, and has always been approachable and engaging during the lessons. Despite the fact I am a complete beginner, he has never gotten frustrated with me making mistakes and is always encouraging towards me. I look forward to my lessons every week and have no hesitation in strongly recommending him as a piano tutor going forward!
