Professional painter, Fine Arts Graduate offering realistic drawing, painting and illustration lessons. From basic portraits to high quality images!

I wanted to make my paintings feel more atmospheric. The lesson about colour temperature was probably the most useful for me. We took a very simple scene and changed the lighting several times, using warmer and cooler relationships rather than just picking different colours randomly. It made me realise how much storytelling can happen through colour alone

I started these lessons in my sixties, mainly because I always wished I could draw. I’m certainly not producing masterpieces yet, but I’ve learned enough to understand what I’m looking at and how to practice properly. Tadeo is very encouraging without being overly complimentary, which I appreciate. If something is wrong, he explains it and we try again. That suits me much better than being told everything is wonderful.

Hands were the subject that finally convinced me to take a class. I could draw a face reasonably well, but the moment a hand appeared, I would hide it behind something! Tadeo broke them down into simple forms and showed me how to think about the palm, fingers, joints and perspective separately. We also did quick sketches rather than obsessing over finished drawings, which made practicing much less frustrating

I approached the class with a very specific problem: I could produce individual illustrations that looked decent, but I couldn't make a sequence of images tell a story. We worked on staging, camera position, silhouettes, pacing, focal points and the relationship between consecutive images. One exercise involved telling a simple action using only three drawings. It was surprisingly difficult—and probably the most valuable drawing exercise I've done. Tadeo's feedback was detailed without overwhelming me, and the online format made it easy to work directly on my own projects.

I’m working on illustrations for a children’s story and needed help making the images feel more playful. We talked about shape language, exaggeration, colour relationships and how to make an illustration readable even when viewed very small. I particularly enjoyed the exercise where we reduced a complicated illustration to a handful of simple shapes. It completely changed how I think about children's illustration

I’m studying animation, and I originally booked the class because I wanted help with character poses. We ended up spending a lot of time on gesture, weight distribution, rhythm and exaggeration. It was much more useful than simply learning how to draw anatomy correctly. Tadeo kept pushing me to make the poses communicate something rather than just making them anatomically accurate. That was exactly what I needed.”
