About Erica Miriam
I have published two award-winning books of poetry and one textbook. I have been published in numerous literary journals, magazines, and anthologies and worked on projects as a writer, editor, and performance director for The New York Knicks, Urban Word NYC, HBO, and Nickelodeon Television. My writing has been featured in multi-media formats for short films and television commercial programming. I have been awarded a writer’s residency at the Omega Institute and have been a featured and/or visiting writer for numerous art festivals and outreach programs including drug rehabilitation centers, prisons and hospitals. I currently teach Poetry and Fiction writing at Pace University, Writing for Magazines at Columbia University, and Essay Writing at the City University of New York (CUNY).

I am a widely published and award-winning writer and have been a college professor for 15+ years.
I lead creative writing workshops (one-on-one or group classes) in the areas of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction.
I lead academic writing workshops in the areas of academic and professional essay-writing and literature.
I also tutor in the same areas mentioned above. I work as an editor and proofreader for completed or partially completed writing manuscripts.
My work as a writing teacher and tutor has spanned from middle school age to adults.
My lessons are designed to be wildly creative, while also focusing on professional craft. My goal is to make writing painless and powerful for reluctant, beginner, and advanced writers.
