About Jonathan
Having worked as a professional musician for 20 years playing all around the world, making music for CBS, HBO and the BBC as well as writing and producing music with over 6 million Spotify streams, my focus is on developing a student to become a guitarist that is an all-round musician. I am still active as a writer, touring musician and producer for television and film. My experience and understanding of the industry means I can help my students learn how to develop a career in music if that is their goal. I am new to the area, recently moved from London and look forward to working with you soon.

Whether the goal is to play for personal fun or develop a career in music, I believe that learning how to be a good musician is more than just working on technique. It is about listening to the other instruments, developing a style, learning how to write, how to play in front of an audience or prepare for a recording session. I cover all these skills from total beginner to advanced and can also help advise on how to navigate a career in the industry. I offer the experience and skills of someone working in the industry right now, recently playing Download Festival, music played on BBC Radio 1 and selling out shows across the UK. Styles taught: Rock, pop, metal, punk, indie, grunge, blues. I teach the way I wish I had been taught at the start of my career and believe I can help develop a musician of any age or ability. I specialise in people beginning their journey into music, teaching people the music that they want to learn and using that as a springboard into their own style. Typically lessons range from 30 (£20) to 60 (£30) minutes. I can teach online, from my studio near Bishop's Waltham or can come to you for an arranged fee. - Beginners: Learning the basics and getting a good grounding in technique, rhythm and developing a passion for the instrument. - Intermediate: Deciding on your goals and tailoring the lessons to suit you. Maybe expanding your range of styles, or composing, or working on how to communicate your ideas with your bandmates before going into the studio. - Advanced: Finding the areas that need sharpening up and working on those with an emphasis on how it helps you not just be a good guitarist but a good band member or studio musician.
