About Jack
Hi there, I'm Jack, a professional session player, composer, music producer and teacher. I regularly gig in London (or wherever the work takes me!), and have been for about 15 years, as well as teaching in schools as a freelancer. Having recently bought my own place in Streatham (SW16), I've been able to set up a studio here, so can offer lessons from home or online, but also open to in-home tuition, depending on location.
Please note that while the platform states I offer 30 mins free for the first lesson (a default over which I have no control), I'll do you one better, and offer the second entirely on the house.
I'm fully DBS-cleared, and, of course, able to provide references. Just let me know what you need, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Here's a promise, or I'll refund you: Lessons with me aren't your standard fare.
The first thing we'll do is establish what music you're into, what styles you'd like to play in, and explore the ways of learning that work for you, not for me.
I don't have a specific template, and no 2 clients will ever have the same lesson. What you'll get from me is exclusive and bespoke tuition.
Like many musicians, I have an understanding and empathy for neurodivergence, as well as extensive personal and professional experience working with it!
My prices are low because this is what I do, I'm honoured to call it my work, and I want to help others achieve the same.
Whether you've never picked up a pair of sticks, or you've just played a headline slot at KOKO (an experience I recommend to anyone), I'll have something new to teach you on drums.
I was self-taught for many years before studying them, giving me the professional techniques to employ and impart, but also a flexibility and understanding of alternative ways to approach them.
So whether you'd like lessons, have questions, or even just need a spot of advice, please step right in, I'd love to hear from you!

Perfect! Jack is an exemplary drum teacher with a kind and considered approach to the student he is teaching. Our son immediately took to him - recognising Jack’s ease and patience. We are impressed with Jack’s passion to ensure the 101 fundamentals of drumming are understood very early on. It’s been a pleasure to see our son confidently name the different drums and play back the rhythms Jack has been teaching him. Every week he looks forward to the session and continues to show interest in music.
Perfect! My son had no experience playing the drums or keys prior but he's loving the instrument as Jack is very patient, kind and welcoming. Jack is great with beginners from my experience. Even if you're not a beginner he's the tutor for you.

Jack is a really warm and friendly drum tutor. He understands your needs, level of abilities and takes care to tailor make the lesson for you.
