About Joy
With over 12 years of experience, I specialise in teaching singing to college students, helping them improve both technical skills and artistic expression. I focus on breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal tone, and performance confidence while nurturing creativity and individuality.
I combine traditional methods with interactive exercises like vocal improvisation, recording sessions, and song analysis. Lessons are customised to the student’s pace, goals, and learning style, making learning both enjoyable and effective.
Performance readiness is an essential part of my teaching. I guide students in stage presence, expressive delivery, and self-confidence for recitals, auditions, and competitions. Music theory and ear training are also integrated to strengthen their musical foundation.
I encourage students to explore different genres, develop their style, and find their unique voice. My philosophy emphasises communication, patience, and accountability, making every lesson motivating and transformative.

My approach to teaching Singing is flexible, encouraging, and goal-oriented. I use clear communication to explain how the voice works, covering techniques such as breathing, tone quality, pitch accuracy, and voice projection. I listen carefully to students’ questions and tailor lessons to their individual strengths and areas of improvement.
Creativity is a major focus of my methodology. I use expressive singing, improvisation, and song interpretation to help students connect emotionally with music. Students are guided to explore various styles while developing confidence and self-expression.
Cultural sensitivity is integral to my teaching. I respect the diverse musical backgrounds of all students and encourage songs from multiple cultures and languages. This helps create an inclusive, respectful, and motivating learning environment.
Accountability is ensured through clear goal-setting, regular feedback, and structured practice routines. Alongside singing, I also teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and vocal care to promote overall musical development.
