About Ivy
I am a programming tutor with 12 years of experience and a PhD in Computer Science. My interest in programming began when I realised how logic can be used to build powerful and meaningful solutions. Over time, this interest developed into a strong passion for teaching and guiding students. I have worked with students from different levels and helped them build strong coding skills and confidence. My goal is to make programming simple, engaging, and accessible for every learner.
My teaching approach focuses on clarity, patience, and structured learning. I break down complex concepts into smaller steps so students can understand them easily. I use practical examples and exercises to make learning effective and interesting. I also encourage students to think independently and solve problems confidently. Creating a supportive learning environment is very important to me. Students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I provide regular feedback and guidance to help them improve consistently.
I continue exploring new technologies and improving my teaching methods to keep lessons relevant and useful. Teaching programming is very rewarding because I see students grow in confidence and skill. I enjoy helping learners move from confusion to clarity and independence. My goal is to support students in building strong coding foundations and practical abilities. By the end, students feel motivated, prepared, and capable of continuing their learning journey in programming with confidence, clarity, and strong understanding of core concepts.

My programming lessons focus on helping students understand coding clearly and apply it confidently in practical situations. I teach concepts such as variables, loops, conditions, functions, and data structures using simple explanations and step-by-step guidance. Students actively write code during lessons, which helps them learn faster and build confidence. I create a supportive and friendly environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and experimenting with ideas. Practice exercises are included in every session to improve logical thinking and accuracy.
Lessons are designed based on each student’s level and learning pace. Beginners focus on understanding syntax and writing simple programmes. Intermediate learners work on structured coding, debugging, and building functions. Advanced students explore algorithms, data structures, and project-based learning. I provide clear explanations and detailed feedback in every session. Students are encouraged to explain their logic, which improves clarity and understanding. Revision sessions are included to strengthen concepts and ensure steady progress over time.
Programming becomes easier when students understand logic deeply and practise consistently. My goal is to help learners become confident and independent in coding. As they improve, they begin to enjoy solving problems and building useful applications. Many students develop strong interest in technology and improve their performance steadily. I focus on practical learning, clear understanding, and continuous growth. By the end, students feel confident, capable, and ready to apply programming skills in real-world situations with strong problem-solving ability, independence, and long-term confidence in their abilities.
