About Alana

Hi, my name is Alana! I have a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree and currently work in specialist coordination for NDIS participants. I enjoy both one-on-one and group teaching settings and have had experience in tutoring for high school students (English, biology, and PDHPE) and psychology and science-related university subjects. My main areas of expertise include psychology, essay writing, and proofreading. I am very patient and like to maintain an active and supportive teaching environment. I have experience with all learning capabilities and can cater to all learning types!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is centered on empowering students to think independently while making learning enjoyable through collaboration between myself and the student! Each lesson begins by assessing your current knowledge, allowing me to tailor the session to meet your specific needs. I use collaborative examples to foster active engagement and thoroughly enjoy helping students achieve their unique academic goals. My adaptable teaching style ensures that it aligns with each student’s individual learning preferences. I encourage students to bring any notes, worksheets, or assignments to our sessions, and I'm more than happy to create additional materials upon request. Additionally, I offer editing services for any work to help refine and strengthen your assignments/submissions. I offer tutoring both online and, when possible, in a public setting.

She has been extremely conscientious, always putting in extra effort, even working with me on short notice and during public holidays. Alana was very flexible with scheduling and extremely fair with her costs, which I truly appreciated.

What stood out the most was how she tailored her approach to my specific requests and learning needs. Thanks to her personalised guidance, I was able to achieve High Distinctions and, more importantly, deeply understand the content. Alana provided valuable, detailed feedback that made a real difference in my learning journey.

She also helped shift my perspective towards writing assignments (something I used to find stressful) and showed me how enjoyable and rewarding the process can be.
